Brand

Comforty—a leading brand of upholstered furniture in Poland, founded in 2000 in Nowe Skalmierzyce (Wielkopolska). With its long tradition of furniture-making, the region was an ideal place to start a company based on local crafts and on its own technological and manufacturing base to design high-quality upholstered furniture for public spaces and private homes.

By working closely with designers and by being actively involved in many architectural projects, Comforty designs keep evolving as people's lifestyles keep changing…

Comforty works with a number of the world's leading designers. The company's portfolio includes works by Tomasz Augustyniak, Dorota Koziara, Tomek Rygalik, Krystian Kowalski, Maja Ganszyniec as well as designers of international profile such as Anderssen&Voll Studio, Philippe Nigro and the LucidiPevere Studio. Many of the products designed for Comforty are among the most iconic examples of modern Polish furniture. They have been exhibited at the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle, during the Łódź Design Festival, at the Museum Triennale di Milano, during London Design Week, at Imm Cologne, Design Week in Paris and at other venues. Comforty products received some of the most important design awards, among them Must Have, the annual plebiscite of Łódź Design Festiwal. Some of them are the part of permanent design collection of National Museum.

In 2008, Comforty organized an international design competition Future Classics whose jury included many renowned authorities in the field of design, including Patricia Urquiola. During the 50th Salone Internazionale del Mobile, held at the famous Superstudio Più, Comforty products were on display for an international audience. It was the first widely-publicised independent show put on by a Polish company at one of the most important exhibition halls during Design Week in Milan. In 2014, following two exhibitions at Superstudio Più staged under the auspices of the Temporary Museum for New Design, Comforty made its debut at the main trade fair in Milan, the iSaloni. This was a turning point in the history of the company, which is now building its presence at the most important furniture trade fairs in the world.

Its unique designs, its association with the most talented Polish and foreign designers, and its strong emphasis on quality have enabled Comforty to display its products in prestigious public spaces and architecturally significant buildings such as the National Museum, the Zachęta National Gallery of Art, the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle, Podlasie Opera, Teatr Wielki and Polish National Opera in Warsaw, and Polish diplomatic missions around the world. In 2011, Comforty products served as the hallmark of Polish design during the first Polish Presidency of the European Union.

The growth of the Comforty portfolio is always inspired by human needs—those related to changing lifestyles, as well as those arising from aesthetic values and the search for harmony and continuity.
Comforty products are marked by timeless design, excellent quality and innovative solutions that make our upholstered furniture so comfortable. The brand strives to combine these values with the tradition of handcrafted furniture made by local artisans, and with the heritage of twentieth-century Polish and international design.
