Philippe Nigro

Born in Nice, France, studied Decorative Arts and product design (La Martinière - Lyon & Ecole Boulle - Paris). Today’s activity is divided mainly between Italy and France. Freelance designer since 1999, he began his career started alongside Michele De Lucchi with which, until 2012, he participated in many projects of product, furniture, lighting, interior design. Since 2005 prospective projects are supported by the VIA (Valorisation of Innovation in Furnishing) through which it has support for projects Shelf Spiral, Cross-Unit storage, sofas Intersections become Confluences product (entered in the FNAC collection and the Museum of Decorative Arts).

In 2009 realized the Universal Base becomes T.U and Twin-chairs Chairs (both entered in the collection of the Centre Pompidou). In 2014, he was named Designer of the Year - Exhibition Now / Maison & Objet, he was also commissioned by the Milan Triennale Museum for the realization of the set for the 7th edition of the Museum of Design. In 2009 - 2010 Philippe participated in Polish Industry first an International Design Competition, Future Classics. His prototype Floating sofa won the competition by the jury consisting of among others Patricia Urquiola, and in 2010 was implemented to the production by Comforty.
