"Collins combines timeless, classic design with the modern appeal of soft, organic lines. Despite the vast seat of both the armchair and the sofa, its slim silhouette does not dominate the interior, but beautifully complements it instead. The curved shape of the base lends a unique look to this furniture series. Depending on the colour of the upholstery and the shade of the wooden base, Collins can adopt a variety of characters and match various spaces, both public and domestic."

Genesis and inspirations

Collins results from a fusion of furniture influences from the 1940s with those from the post-war era. It makes a deft use of the bourgeois art deco aesthetics, which manifests a certain unique feature: a specific kind of playfulness, combined with almost hedonistic comfort and distinctive luxury accents, lying at the origin of this elegant style. Notably, the Collins collection was designed for the Polish Business Roundtable Club, located for more than a decade in Warsaw’s neo-Renaissance palace of the Sobański family in Ujazdów Avenue. Manifesting all the qualities of a modern-day item of furniture, Collins was devised to blend into the historic interiors, rich with decoration details from the 19th century, which survived the war damage.

Despite its compact silhouette, Collins’ look conceals surprising comfort, achieved by means of super loop wave springs, which offer enormous elasticity even on a small surface. This is one of the features of this design that evoke nostalgia for furniture from the first half of the 20th century, when such solutions were used, which have now become increasingly rare.

Collins is available as an armchair and as a two- or three-person sofa. Wooden elements are available in a broad range of Comforty veneers.

Its scale and available sizes render Collins ideal for hotel, reception and club spaces. Depending on the chosen fabric and wood used in external wooden surfaces, it may adopt an air of the 1950s or a more luxury appeal of the 1940s. It is enough to clad it with velour or plush upholstery from our collection, or else to add a shine or wood varnish in order to completely change the character of the furniture in combination with a selected fabric. Collins will contribute to every interior with its impeccable, elegant, lounge silhouette and surprisingly immodest comfort.
