"The original and slightly extravagant form of this chaise longue turns it into a perfect centrepiece of the interior. At the time of its premiere at the turn of the new millennium, the Mono collection, hailed by critics as an “icon of Central and Eastern European design”, stole the show at design exhibitions in Berlin, Milan and Frankfurt am Main. Awarded the Prodeco prize, it nowadays represents Tomasz Augustyniak’s designs for Comforty at the permanent display of Polish design at the National Museum in Warsaw. Its powerful silhouette is an everlasting symbol of the breakthrough in design by the Vistula after the year 2000. The distinctive, geometrised, original form no longer clearly evoked the Postmodernist aesthetics, thus anticipating a new era. Mono was also an optimistic symbol of the restitution of designer’s role in the changing furniture industry. It conveyed the ambition to develop a new aesthetics that would reflect the ever more prominent changes in Polish architecture as well as the lifestyle and aspirations of Poles. Mono’s chief visual feature are decorative metal cylinders in the chaise longue backrest and the sofa armrests. These hide rollers that enhance the comfort of the seat. The Mono series comprises a sofa and a chaise longue – the latter is still produced. Wheels that facilitate moving are its additional advantage.   "
