Genesis and inspirations
The unfolding bed function of Lol is not a compromise solution. It was designed to ideally balance the roles of this item of furniture as a sofa and a bed, which are equally important. The simple method of transforming this sofa into a spacious bed is a major asset of this design. It is enough to pull out the elements of the backrest and open the sofa.
An interesting solution is the use of completely different compositions that determine the comfort of the sofa seat and the bed. The seat is definitely softer, equipped with pocket springs. Opening the sofa reveals an independent configuration of comfort for the bed, with high resilience foam and spring slats. Thus, the comfort layers that ensure good sleep are not exploited even when the sofa is regularly used during the day.
Its compact dimensions make Lol ideal for smaller rooms with not enough space for a standard bed. In order to underline the compact character of the product, Lol is devoid of acute angles and corner edges.
Its silhouette – with a strongly emphasised outline when viewed from the front, characteristic of Tomek Rygalik’s designs for Comforty – is complemented by legs made of oak or beech wood varnished in the colours from the Comforty solid wood collection.
