Classic
"The dignified, noble shapes and the timeless, light silhouette of the Classic sofa mark an original reference to the concept of classic design. However, its production technology and ergonomics represent the tendencies of contemporary design. Its low-key and smart silhouette results from the combination of repetitive components, created with the use of traditional upholstery technique, with moulded elements. This is what makes this item of furniture light, ergonomic and distinguished by unconventional details. The well-considered selection of materials and composition of upholstery guarantee unique comfort and a feeling of softness. The seat cushions are formed of a configuration of highly elastic and thermoelastic foam (so-called memory foam, or Visco-elastic foam). The seat gently adjusts its shape to user’s weight and body temperature. Although the backrest cushions are soft and cosy, they contain a foam core that preserves their elegant shape and elasticity for years. "

Genesis and inspirations
The balanced height of the backrest cushions offers ergonomic support for the body and comfort for the head also for tall users. Regulated with a cushion, the depth of the seat allows for laid-back relaxation and more formal sitting positions, depending on the situation.
The sofa’s low-key, elegant design is completed by the shape of the armrests, perfectly devised by Krystian Kowalski, with their gentle contours, unique visual appeal and refined sewing details. The subtle, aluminium-cast legs lend the sofa a lightweight air. A classic series of available types, comprising sofas with sides, footstools, chaise longues in two heights, an armchair and open seats, offers the possibility to intuitively compose vast configurations and corner arrangements. The seat of the Classic sofa is available in two depths. The deeper version, with an extra cushion to support the loins, is perfect for relaxed lounging at home. The shallower, compact version, which also ensures outstanding comfort, is ideal for public spaces that encourage more formal body postures. It does not have loin cushions included as standard, but its compact proportions will perfectly match office interiors. The sofa’s modular, well-considered functionality goes hand in hand with its original form, fit for all kinds of spaces.
Classic owes its name to the question we asked ourselves upon initiating the development of this product. What unique features can be given to a modern-day design in order to make it exceptional and unforgettable, but without losing any of the comfort, classic proportions and functions? How to create an exemplary sofa on the one hand, but on the other hand – to lend it a powerful, timeless identity and make a contribution to the rich oeuvre of furniture designers in this respect? Krystian found an answer in hand-developed details. The sofa’s most characteristic element: the armrests, was elaborated by hand at the modelling stage by milling and grinding a styrofoam block until the desired effect was achieved. This is how Classic gained a unique quality, which would not be possible only with 3D modelling and drawing. It also acquired a sensual and human dimension, which is hard to come across nowadays in industrial production, ever more often based on AI and digital tools.
The aluminium legs are additionally available in a polished version, in four elegant matt colours: white, clack, grey and navy, in Sahara sand structure lacquers, as well as in pearl brass, copper and rust.
Now also available in leather, including the Elmosoft Semi-Aniline leather offered by the Elmo brand, renowned for its ecological production.
